BIT

The BIT is a computing-focused 4-year, 8-semester degree totaling 120 credit hours under TU's Institute of Science and Technology (IoST). It sits precisely between theoretical computer science and corporate IT operations. Degree Campus holds a fixed cap of 36 seats per batch for this program.

Semester-by-Semester Curriculum

  • Semester I: Information Technology Fundaments, C Programming, Digital Logic, Mathematics I, Technical English.

  • Semester II: Object-Oriented Programming (Java/C++), Discrete Structures, Computer Organization & Architecture, Mathematics II, Sociology.

  • Semester III: Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), Database Management Systems (DBMS), Operating Systems, Numerical Methods, Principles of Management.

  • Semester IV: Web Technology, Microprocessor & Computer Interfacing, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Data Communication.

  • Semester V: Object-Oriented Software Development, Design & Analysis of Algorithms (DAA), System Analysis and Design, Cryptography & Network Security, + 1 Elective.

  • Semester VI: Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Java Programming, Mobile Application Development, Project I (Minor), + 1 Elective.

  • Semester VII: Information Security, Cloud Computing, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Network & System Administration, + 1 Elective.

  • Semester VIII: Distributed Systems, Entrepreneurship and Professional Ethics, Project II (Major), + 2 Elective papers.

Entrance Testing

  • For BIT: Admission requires passing the centralized BIT Entrance Examination conducted by TU IoST. The ranking on this merit list determines who gets the competitive 36 seats at Degree Campus.
