The Master of Arts (MA) in Sociology program at Tribhuvan University (TU)—including the Post Graduate Degree Campus in Biratnagar—is a 2-year, 4-semester program consisting of 63 credit hours.

Evaluation System

The grading format balances internal continuous evaluation with final board exams:

  • Internal Assessment (40%): Awarded by the campus department based on class attendance, participation/presentations, mid-term tests, and term paper writing.

  • External Board Exam (60%): Final written examinations conducted by the TU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the end of each semester.
