The Master of Business Studies (MBS) program, under Tribhuvan University's (TU) Faculty of Management, is a highly popular post-graduate degree in Nepal. It is structured as a 2-year, 4-semester academic program requiring a total of 60 credit hours (equivalent to 1,000 marks).

In the final semester, you must pick three elective courses from one specific functional area to build deep expertise:
Finance: Asset Management, Capital Structure Management, Working Capital Management, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, Financial Markets & Institutions.
Marketing: Consumer Behavior, International Marketing, Brand Management, Sales Management, Services Marketing.
Accountancy: Corporate Taxation, Cost Management, Contemporary Auditing, Accounting Theory & Financial Reporting.
General Management: Small Business Management, Organizational Development & Change, Quality Management, Labor Relations.
TU utilizes a hybrid assessment system for the MBS program, combining internal performance with centralized board exams:
Internal College Assessment (40% / 40 Marks): Evaluated continuously throughout the semester by the respective campus via pre-board exams, group work/case analyses, project assignments, and class attendance. You must secure a minimum of 50% in the internal marks to sit for final boards.
TU Semester-End Examination (60% / 60 Marks): A formal 3-hour written board exam conducted by the Office of the Dean, FOM. It heavily tests problem-solving capabilities, critical analysis, and situational case studies.
Eligibility Note: To apply for the MBS program at any TU constituent or affiliated campus, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree (BBS or any other discipline) from TU or a recognized university, and pass the centralized CMAT (Central Management Admission Test) examination.
